Zack Greinke Wins Second Straight Gold Glove

Zack Greinke

According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke has won his second straight Gold Glove Award.

Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

Greinke had a dominant year on the bump and is a finalist for the NL Cy Young award. He beat out Gerrit Cole for the award.  The Los Angeles Dodgers tweeted their excitement about the news as well.

In July we wrote about him becoming an All-Star:

“Zack Greinke will be the starting pitcher for the National League. The manager of the NL team said the following about the race for starting pitcher:

“We had some great starters who are candidates, but the numbers he’s putting up are really, really unbelievable,” NL manager Bruce Bochy said.

Greinke was the 2009 CY Young Award winner and will be appearing in his third All-Star game. ESPN.com reports the following on the Dodgers’ pitcher:

“Greinke is 8-2 with a major league-best 1.39 ERA for the first-place Dodgers and has not allowed an earned run in his last five starts, a span of 35 2/3 innings. He has allowed more than three runs in a start just once this season and has gone no fewer than six full innings in each of his 18 starts.”

Congratulations Zack Greinke on the well deserved award! We will continue to track all of the Dodgers offseason moves and keep you up to date.
