Yasiel Puig Powers Dodgers Past Padres

Yasiel Puig hit two homeruns yesterday as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 10-2. With the win the Dodgers won the series 3-1.
For the Los Angeles Brandon McCarthy got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, while striking out 4 batters as he picked up his first win of the year.
On the other side Jered Weaver got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 runs, while striking out 2 batters. He was awarded a loss for his efforts.
The offense got started in the second inning when Puig hit a two-run homerun to left field that brought in Chase Utley. This gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead.
In the fourth inning Puig hit another homerun. His second homerun brought in Joc Pederson and made the scored 4-0.
Wil Myers hit a two-run homerun of his own in the 6th inning. Hit bomb brought in Travis Jankowski and cut the Dodger lead to 4-2.
Kike Hernandez hit a RBI double to left that brought in Austin Barnes. Hernandez went on to steal home to push the Dodger lead to 6-2.
In the 7th inning Andrew Toles drew a walk that brought in Puig. Corey Seager followed up with a 2-run double that brought in Barnes and Scott Van Slyke. Toles scored on a pass ball that pushed the Dodgers lead to 10-2.
Los Angeles will take on the Colorado Rockies today a 1:10 p.m. PST. Hyun-jin Ryu will square off against Kyle Freeland.
