Winnipeg Jets Vs. Los Angeles Kings Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: January 10, 2015
The Winnipeg Jets will take on the Los Angeles Kings tonight at the Staples Center. The Kings have been struggling lately and are just 1-2-2 in their last 5 games. In their most recent game they loss in a Stanley Cup rematch to the New York Rangers.
Tonight will be the third game of a six game homestand for the Kings. They allowed the Rangers to score four unanswered goals on Thursday night. It has been a struggle on the defensive side of the puck as the Kings have allowed 11 goals in their last two games.
Forward Justin Williams spoke to CBSsports.com about the issue.
“Four goals against yet again, for a team that prides itself on defense, is something inexcusable,” forward Justin Williams said. “It’s something we’ve tried to clean up, and something we need to continue to do, because we’re not going to win games giving up chances like that.”
It will be interesting to see how the Kings defense responds after Thursday night’s loss. Anze Kopitar has had some success against the Jets recently as he has scored three goals in the last two meetings.
For the Jets they are coming off a loss to the Arizona Coyotes. Mathieu Perreault scored the only goal for the Jets in the 4-1 defeat. The Jets had 5-3 opportunities but were unable to capitalize. They are 0-10 in those situations this season.
The Kings beat the Jets 4-1 back in October in their first meeting of the season.
