Williams Remains Hot, Lakers Lose To Suns

Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers dropped their fifth-straight game in an 119-115 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Lou Williams remained hot, scoring 35 points to lead the team in scoring again. Williams is the number one bench player in the NBA, averaging 19.3 as the team’s sixth-man.

The Suns came out of the starting gate scorching, Eric Bledsoe scored 15 of his 30 points in the first quarter, to help lead the Suns to their first win snapping a three-game losing streak.
The fifth-straight loss has left the team searching for a solution to this problem. “Losing is losing,” Lou Williams said after the game, as the team will try to turn things around in their next game against the New York Knicks.

Despite the loss, there were some bright spots, Luol Deng grabbed 11 rebounds, Marcelo Huertas showed some leadership at the point guard spot adding 12 points from off the bench and Larry Nance Jr. added 10 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

The Lakers out-rebounded the Suns 61-49, and the team did better than Phoenix at the free-throw line, making 26 of the 34 times they went to the line. The problem has been turnovers, the Suns only committed only 8 while the Lakers committed 16, coming off a 28 turnover game against the Houston Rockets. The team is still without the services of D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young, and Tarik Black due to injuries.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The Lakers (10-15) will take on Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks at home tomorrow night at the Staples Center. The team is now eleven games behind the Golden State Warriors in the NBA’s Western Conference, Pacific Division.
