Will Frank Reich Become A Head Coach Next Season?

According to Ian Rappoport of NFL.com the San Diego Chargers Offensive coordinator Frank Reich could be lured away to the Buffalo Bills.

In a shocking turn of events, the Buffalo Bills have a head coaching spot open after Doug Marrone decided to opt out of his contract tonight. ESPN.com report Adam Schefter broke the news of Marrone’s decison.

Frank Reich was a quarterback in the NFL for 13 years, including 9 years with the Bills. Reich would be a natural fit in a homecoming situation for the Bills.

Also, the Bills will look to find a way to get E.J. Manuel going next season. After losing his job to the veteran Kyle Orton, Manuel will most likely be the starting quarterback next season. With Reich a former quarterback and quarterback coach, the Bills will likely make their next hire someone with a quarterback expertise.

If the Chargers were to lose Reich to another team they would have a void to fill of their own. Many fans are unhappy with the Chargers progress on the offensive side of the ball last season. They ranked 10th in passing yard and 30th in rushing but to be fair there were numerous injuries in the backfield.
