Warriors Thrash Clippers 115-98
- Updated: December 7, 2016
Your Los Angeles Clippers (16-7) were back at Staples Center Wednesday night to take on their “rival” Golden State Warriors (19-3). “Rival” was put in quotes because apparently not everybody considers this matchup a rivalry.
Most would consider the Warriors and Clippers rivals, but not Doc Rivers (by @BenGolliver)https://t.co/Xxo48yZUYYpic.twitter.com/i8z52pbqDt

Speaking of Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers he certainly made himself available to the media leading up to this contest all week. Most Interestingly discussing the importance of the team’s rare but necessary scheduled practice yesterday.
Clippers will be pushed today. Doc- “Game is big tomorrow. But we need a practice more. So if we’re tired tomorrow, we’re tired tomorrow”

An interesting tactic when going up against a division foe with whom you are competing for a top seed in the Western Conference don’t you think? Seems like Rivers wanted a nice excuse to fall back on if this game didn’t go his team’s way and it certainly didn’t.
Draymond Green had himself a night matched up against Blake Griffin with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Griffin on the other hand struggled mightily. Looking hesitant to shoot and not playing aggressively the 5 time All-Star didn’t take advantage of his size mismatch with only 12 points and 9 rebounds.
The team started off immediately struggling with 9 turnovers in the opening quarter of play and things didn’t get much better all night.
However Jamal Crawford was a bright spot as he was the only Clipper that looked to be clicking with 21 points including a beautiful bank shot coming off the bench.

Other than Crawford very little went right for Los Angeles. Even a constant for the squad came to an end Wednesday night as J.J. Redick‘s league-leading consecutive games with a three pointer streak came to an end at 77. Redick finished with just 2 points.
A rough Clipper loss will linger with the team for a few days until they take on the New Orleans Pelicans back at Staples Saturday at 7:30 PM PST on NBATV.
