@PadresInDepth

According to Corey Brock of Padres.com the San Diego Padres have annoucned that Tyson Ross will be the opening day starter.

The San Diego Padres confirmed the news on their official twitter account.

This the first time that Ross will be the opening day starter. Even though Ross had a great season last year the Padres did go out and sign James Shields last season.

Ross went 10-12 with a 3.26 ERA and struck out a career high 212 strikeouts. With new manager Andy Green the Padres are looking  to right the ship after a disappointing season last year.

Congratulations Ross!
