Trout’s Big Game Not Enough To Beat Brewers

Mike Trout went 4-5 including a homerun to straight away center but it wasn’t enough for the Angels to overcome the Brewers big 5th and 6th innings.
For Anaheim Jered Weaver got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 11 hits and 7 runs. He walked two batters and struck out 3 and was awarded his first loss of the year.
For the Brew Crew Jimmy Nelson got the start. He pitched 7 inning allowing 4 hits and two runs. He walked three batters and struck out 6. He was awarded his fourth win of the year for his efforts.
The Halos got the board first in the top of the first inning. Trout hit a RBI single that brought in Yunel Escobar and Anaheim held a 1-0 lead.
In the fifth inning the Brewers got the board. Yadiel Rivera hit a RBI single to left field that brought in Aaron Hill. Nelson helped his own cause with a RBI single that brought Rivera in. Jonathan Lucroy hit 2-run double that brought in Nelson and Ryan Braun and the Brewers held a 4-1 lead.
In the sixth inning Trout hit a solo shot to center field that cut the lead to 4-2. Rivera was at it again in the bottom half the inning. He had a RBI single that brought in Kirk Nieuwenhuis. Jonathan Villar followed with a 2-run double. Braun added to the inning with an infield single that brought in Alex Presley and the Brewers held a 8-2 advantage.
The Halos tried to fight back in the 8th inning. Albert Pujols hit a RBI double that brought Trout in. C.J. Cron added a RBI single to cut the lead to 8-4. Trout hit a RBI single that brought in Rafael Ortega in the 9th inning but that ended the Angels comeback gig.
Anaheim and Milwaukee will continue the series tonight at Miller at 5:10 p.m. PST
