Tre Mason Arrested In Florida
- Updated: March 7, 2016
Police in Hollywood, Florida arrested Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason Saturday night as first reported by Paradise Afshar of WPLG Local 10.
It is also reported that authorities used a taser on Mason according to Frank Guzman of WSVN-TV.
Broward County records show Mason is facing four charges that include: resisting an officer, reckless driving, failing to register a motor vehicle and marijuana possession of 20 grams or less.
“We are very disappointed to learn of an incident involving Tre Mason in the Miami, Fla. area Saturday afternoon,” in a statement released by the Rams. “We are in the process of obtaining more information about the facts surrounding this incident and will have no further comment at this time.”
The news comes at a time when the Rams are still in the process of finishing its move from St. Louis to Los Angeles with the team expected to start spring OTA’s in Oxnard.
Mason was a third round draft pick out of Auburn in 2014, but with the emergence of rookie of the year Todd Gurley, Mason is essentially now on the chopping block and could be released if the NFL decides to suspend him pending the outcome of the investigation.
Last season Mason played in 13 games last season and rushed for 207 yards with one touchdown. Mason is also the first Rams player to be arrested since the move almost two months ago.
