Todd Dunivant has had an eventful career, to say the least. A thirteen year one that is beefed up with a few trophies here and there. That will be coming to an end, however, at the end of the season as the Galaxy announced his retirement.
MLS.com calls Todd Dunivant’s career, “one of the more accomplished careers” in the history of the league. Dunivant said the following in a statement:
“I have given this game all that I can and will step away extremely thankful to have played in MLS for the last 13 seasons. It has been an honor to represent four great clubs and is extremely special for me be a part of this league as it has continued to develop. I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates and fans, who have offered their constant support and helped make my career a successful one.
“The Galaxy have played such a meaningful role during my time in MLS and I am happy to finish this season while representing this club.”
He has been a member of the Galaxy since 2005, except for the few years until 2009, which means he was there to lift the Galaxy’s cups.
The MLS.com broke his career down like this:
“Dunivant has won five MLS Cup trophies to date, the first with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2003 and the four since with the Galaxy, as well as a US Open Cup title. The veteran left back has also helped claim a pair of Supporters’ Shields, three Western Conference Championships, and was named to the MLS Best XI back in 2011.”
We wish you the best of luck Dunivant! We will miss having you in the back defending our team!
