The Los Angeles Lakers Select Lonzo Ball
- Updated: June 22, 2017
The Ball era has begun in Los Angeles.
“With the second pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select Lonzo Ball.” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced to the crowd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York.
Lonzo Ball, the 6″6′ point guard from UCLA has been compared to Jason Kidd on several levels. A true floor general, something that the Lakers hasn’t had since the retirement of Magic Johnson.
Ball led the Pac-12 and the NCAA in assist with 7.6 per game. He also led the Pac-12 and two-point field goal percentage at an amazing .732 per game and he was second in the league in steals.
His main focus is to make the players around him better and his ball-handling skills are superior and as a
distributor, the Lakers should resemble the Showtime Era.
