Teams Interested In Jimmy Rollins?

@mlbdailydish

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Jimmy Rollins may be changing positions next season wherever he plays.

Rollins is a former second round pick of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1996 MLB Draft. He spent 15 years with the Phillies before joining the Dodgers last offseason.

Last season he appeared in 144 games and posted a .224 batting average. He collected 116 hits including 24 doubles and 13 home runs.

The longtime shortstop may have to move to second base as he gets older. At age 37 his best baseball is probably behind him but he is a very valuable piece for a locker room. Rollins is less than 600 hits away from the 3,000 hit club so it will be interesting to see if he tries to reach that milestone.

Reports have surfaced the the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have expressed interest as they try to upgrade their team after not making the playoffs.

With the amount of young prospects that the Dodgers have there is no room for Rollins next season.
