Taylor Jungmann threw a complete game allowing just 3 hits and the Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1 on Saturday night. The Brewers have been one of the hottest teams in baseball and tonight was no exception.
Brandon Beachy made his first start in years for the Dodgers after recovering from two Tommy John surgeries. His night didn’t pan out the way he wanted as he only was able to get through 4 innings. He allowed 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 2 and walking 3.
On the other hand it was a completely different story for Jungmann. Jungmann pitched 9 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run while striking out 7 and walking 2. He was able to pick up his 4th win of the season.
Carlos Gomez got the Brewers on the board in the 3rd inning with a bases clearing double. He was able to bring in Jungmann, Ryan Braun and Adam Lind and gave the Brew Crew a 3-0 lead.
In the 7th inning Gerardo Parra hit a solo shot to left and the Brewers pushed the lead to 4-0. Gomez was at it again with another RBI double this time bringing in Jonathan Lucroy and Braun.
Parra hit a RBI double to left center field in the 8th inning that brought in Scooter Gennett and the Brewers held a 7-0 lead.
In the 8th inning the Dodgers finally got on the board. Enrique Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Yasmani Grandal. This cut the lead to 7-1 but that was all the Dodgers could mustered up.
The Brewers and Dodgers will continue their series tomorrow afternoon at 1:10 p.m. PST. Kyle Lohse and Brett Anderson are expected to square off.
