Taijuan Walker Goes 7 Innings Beat Angels 3-1

Taijuan Walker pitched 7 strong innings as the Los Angeles Angels fell to Seattle Mariners 3-1. This is the first game of the series.
For the Angels Matt Shoemaker got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 2 and walked 2 as he picked up the loss.
On the other hand Walker was brilliant. He pitched 7 innings allowing 7 hits and 1 run. He struck out 6 and walked 0 as he picked up the win.
The offense got started in the first inning when Mike Trout hit a solo shot to center field. This was his 19th of the season and gave the Halos a 1-0 lead.
After a few scoreless innings the Mariners made their move. Brad Miller hit a RBI double that brought in Mark Trumbo. This tied the game at 1-1.
In the 6th inning Nelson Cruz hit a RBI double to right field that brought in Austin Jackson. Cruz’s doubled gave Seattle a 2-1 lead.
Robinson Cano hit a solo shot to right field in the 8th inning off of Fernando Salas. This was his 4th of the year and Mariners held on to beat the Halos 3-1.
The Angels and Mariners will continue their series tomorrow night at 4:15 p.m. PST.
