SuperCharger MVP Week 2- Melvin Gordon
- Updated: September 24, 2015
The San Diego Chargers were unable to start 2-0 after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. The 24-19 loss came mostly due to the Chargers inability to capitalize on opportunities.
This week I believe Melvin Gordon was the SuperCharger MVP. His numbers won’t blow you away but he made strides and looks to be the running back of the future for San Diego.
He ran for 88 yards on 16 carries and caught 1 pass for 10 yards. Gordon was the first running back since Ladainian Tomlinson to have 3 rushes over 20 yards plus.
Ricky Henne reported that news via Twitter on Sunday.
Also, as @Yoffe_Chargers notes, Melvin Gordon is first Chargers first running back with 3 20-yd carries since @LT_21 in 2007.

Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union Tribune tweeted his thoughts on Gordon’s progression thus far.
Chargers rookie RB Melvin Gordon has looked better each week, back to exhibition season. Making another jump today. More decisive.

Gordon will continue to develop this season the Chargers will benefit from his growth. With an average of 5.5 yards a carry the Chargers could have used him a little more last game.
The Chargers will take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon.
