SuperCharger MVP – San Diego Chargers Week 14

The San Diego Chargers played at prime time on Sunday against the New England Patriots. It would be a pretty close game as the first half would end at 13-14 with the Chargers in the lead.
The 2nd half, though, would feature Tom Brady and his Patriots getting back on track and taking over the game on, both, offense and defense. The Patriots would win 23-14 holding the Chargers to 0 points in the 2nd half.
Philip Rivers would not look like himself as he would miss some throws and make some unwisely decisions throughout the night. The protection did not help him, however, as Rivers would be sacked 4 times and hit 7 times in the game. Rivers would have a QBR of just 12.2 for the game.
Running back, Ryan Mathews, would have a decent game having 11 carries for 44 yards. The Chargers just would not feed Mathews the ball too much during the game.
Malcom Floyd would be the leading receiver for the Chargers recording 3 receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown.
On the defensive side, for the Chargers, is where several players would step up and play well to hold the Patriots down…at least in the 1st half.
Linebacker, Kavell Conner, lead the bolts in tackles for the game with 9 total tackles and 7 solo tackles.
Defensive end, Corey Liuget, would also play well having 7 total tackles, 4 solo tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 1 quarterback hit.
There is one player that played absolutely lights-out on the defensive side for the Chargers on Sunday, though, and he is our SuperCharger MVP of week 14. Linebacker, Melvin Ingram.
Ingram caused chaos for the Patriots’ offensive line all day and made some pretty spectacular plays with 110% effort. Ingram ending up having 6 tackles, 5 solo tackles, 1 sack (the only sack on Brady for the night), 3 tackles for loss, and 1 pass deflection.
