Former Los Angeles Kings defensive Slava Voynov has been named to the Russian national team to compete in the World Cup of Hockey… for now.
Voynov was suspended in the 2014-2015 season after being charged with domestic spousal abuse which ultimately ended his NHL playing days.

Voynov won two rings with the Kings in 2012 and 2014. It is a messy situation to say the least and I don’t expect Voynov will be able to participate. As more information surfaces on the World Cup of Hockey we will keep you up to date.
