Signs of improvement for the Lakers?

Yes! The season for the Los Angeles Lakers hasn’t been one to remember but this team has improved.

Lavar Ball is what he is, no question about that, but the team has played very soundly and has focused on the goals for the second half of the season (without any outside interference).

But despite the distractions (Lavar Ball), the Lakers has been playing better basketball. Brandon Ingram‘s injury should give the Lakers a lift in the next week or so. The blowout loss to Golden State and the heartbreaking loss to the Miami Heat by one-point on Friday night should help the team in their next game against the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

At least they aren’t eliminated at this point. Los Angeles find themselves in the 11th spot in the West, just eight games from the final playoff position, with 13 games left in the season, the playoff push will include 8 games with teams that the Lakers are chasing in the playoff race.

At the end of the season, the team will have to make some very tough decisions on roster moves. Some of the big named free agents like LeBron James, Paul George, and DeMarcus Cousins will be targeted this summer. Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, and Jimmy Butler could be on the radar in the summer of 2019. Cap space and declining contracts should get the team back to the “Lakers” we all know.
