Short-Handed Lakers Travel To Minnesota

The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on the first day of 2018. Los Angeles is coming off a double-overtime loss to James Harden and the Houston Rockets last night.

Los Angeles is without rookie point guard Lonzo Ball who dealing with an injury, swingman Kentavous Caldwell-Pope who is not allowed to leave the state of California due to a jail sentence from a DUI over the summer, and Brook Lopez who is dealing with an injury as well.

The Lakers are also coming into this game tired.  Brandon Ingram, Tyler Ennis, and Kyle Kuzma each played over 40 minutes last night. Los Angeles has lost six games in a row entering tonight.

For Minnesota, they have won six of their last seven games and sit at the top of the Northwest Standings. The Timberwolves are led by Jimmy Butler who leads the club in scoring at 21.3 points per game and Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 20.3 points per game with 11.5 rebounds.

The Wolves also have Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague who as valuable weapons on the offensive end as well.

Luke Walton and the Lakers will have a lot on their hands to deal with tonight. These two teams met in Los Angeles on Christmas Day and the Wolves pulled out the victory 121-104.
