Shohei Ohtani Has 1st-Degree Sprain of Right UCL

According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Shohei Ohtani has a 1st-degree sprain of right UCL and more damage could result in Tommy John surgery.

Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reported further information on the news.

Eppler statement: “Shohei underwent a thorough physical with MRI scans to both his elbow and his shoulder. Those are scans we conduct whenever we sign a pitcher. Based on the readings of those MRIs, there are not signs of acute trauma in the elbow. (more)
