SF Giants Edge LA Dodgers 2-1

@Dodgers

Hyun-Jin Ryu was absolutely stellar Monday night in San Francisco for the Dodgers. Matt Cain was just a little bit better. Scoreless in the second, Joe Panik plated Brandon Crawford on a sacrifice fly to center. From there, Cain took over. He cruised through six scoreless frames without breaking a sweat. He wavered just two hits and one walk while striking out three.

Ryu tossed six innings of one-run ball, but took a tough-luck loss.

Hunter Pence and Chris Taylor exchanged late RBIs to move the score to 2-1 in San Francisco’s favor after eight.

Steven Okert, George Kontos and Derek Law bridged the gap to Mark Melancon, who shut the door in the ninth with his fourth save of the season. Justin Turner was picked off to end the game.

2-1 your final.

At 9-11, the Dodgers sit at third in the National League West, five back of Colorado. The Giants (7-13) are seven games out. Los Angeles will continue the series tonight against the Giants in San Francisco.
