The San Diego Padres continued their desire to win tonight to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 after extra innings. After the energy it took for them to win last night, and the prolonged game tonight, they were finally able to go 2-0 in their series with Arizona. Justin Upton was their golden ticket tonight.

The San Diego Padres pulled off a come-from-behind win after being down 4-2. They scored two in the eighth and one in the ninth to tie the game up.

After Yangervis Solarte strike swinging, Solarte doubled to the left helping Jedd Gyorko to score. With Derick Norris at bat, he went ball, ball, and then doubled to the right. Solar ultimately was able to score and the game was sitting at 3-2.

Addison Reed relieved Andrew Chafin in the top of the ninth for the Diamondbacks. This was where Justin Upton‘s dominance began. He singled to the left and allowed Wil Myers to score, extending the Padres’ lead to 4-2.

Craig Kimbrel relived Joaquin Benoit in the bottom of the ninth. Kimbrel allowed two runs, two hits and had 0 errors. Diamondbacks equalized and extra innings were amongst us.

Scoring came again for the Padres in the top of the twelfth. With Justin Upton at bat strike looking. He homered to left center and scored for himself! Will Venable struck out, followed by Alexi Amarista singling to the left and allowing Yangervis Solarte to score. The Padres were then up 6-4.

With Kevin Quackenbush pitching Paul Goldschmidt and A.J. Pollock were struck out, while Tuffy Gosewisch lined out to center.

The game ended with a Padres win!

The Padres and Dbacks will continue their series tomorrow afternoon at 1:10 p.m. PST
