San Diego Padres Will Host 2016 All-Star Game

According to the San Diego Padres official team website Petco Park will be the site of the 2016 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

This will be the third time the Padres have hosted the Mid-Summer Classic but the first in Petco Park. The Padres hosted the 1978 and 1992 games in Jack Murphy Stadium.
The president of the Padres Mike Dee expressed his excitement of the announcement on Twitter.
The 2016 All-Star Game is coming to @PetcoPark. What an exciting day for the City of San Diego!

The MLB tweeted the following in honor of the announcement:
