San Diego Padres Vs. Seattle Mariners Start Time, Preview

The San Diego Padres will open up Spring Training this afternoon against the Seattle Mariners. According to Corey Brock of MLB.com Justin Lane will get the start on the mound of for the Friars faithful.
Wednesday’s Padres starting battery: 38-year-old pitcher Jason Lane and 37-year-old catcher Wil Nieves. Insert your own Sun City/AARP joke.

Lane has spent his entire career in the minor league system. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 1999 draft by the Houston Astros.
New additions Matt Kemp and Justin Upton will get the start for the Padres as well, Brock reported.

For the Mariners Taijuan Walker will get the start on the mound. Today’s game is the annual charity game between the two teams.
AJ Cassavell reported the Mariners potential pitchers for the week.
“He’s scheduled to be followed in the rotation by Roenis Elias on Thursday and Erasmo Ramirez on Friday.”
