San Diego Padres Eying Johan Santana?

According to Jon Heyman of CBSsports. com the San Diego Padres are amongst the teams interested in pitcher Johan Santana.

Johan Santana is a former Cy Young winner but has not pitched in the majors since 2012. He has been battling injuries in his shoulder and it is unclear how much he has left in the tank.
Back in 2012 Santana went 6-9 with a 4.85 ERA as he made 29 starts. If the Padres were to sign Santana it would most likely be on a minor league contract to see just how much he has left.
Only time will tell who will offer Santana a contract, but for right now it looks like the Padres are serious contenders for the former star.
