Shorts was on the best wide receivers left on the free agent market and the San Diego Chargers were in the mix to sign him .
With Shorts off the market it leaves the Texans with Micheal Crabtree and Steve Johnson to still pursue. He will replace the void that was there after the Texans cut Andre Johnson. When asked about replacing Johnson Shorts gave some very humble answers.
Cecil Shorts 3 on being signed after Andre Johnson waived “I’m not coming there 2 replace him. I’m coming to be the best player I can be.”
