The Chargers have been actively pursuing the services of Steve Johnson after losing Eddie Royal to the Chicago Bears. Johnson spent last season with the San Francisco 49ers and with all the changes taking place in the organization he was one of the players ousted as well.
With the addition of Johnson it adds to the depth the Chargers have added this offseason. The Bolts added Jacoby Jones earlier in the offseason. The additions paired with Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd will only help Phillip Rivers and the Charger offense.
Johnson was on the best receivers left on the market and the Chargers were able to sign him against fierce competition. The New England Patriots were the favorite to land Johnson’s services after he met with the organization at their facilities on Monday.
Welcome to the Bolt family Stevie Johnson!
