The Sacramento Kings will travel south to take on the Lakers tonight in a battle of Pacific division rivals. While the Lakers are currently on a 3 game losing streak, they hope to right the ship tonight. On Sunday night, the Lakers were beat by the Pelicans 104-87. The bigger story was the Lakers new lineup change which features Ronnie Price and Ed Davis.
As always there’s plenty of drama in Los Angeles but the Lakers need to focus on their opponent the Sacramento Kings. These teams have yet to meet this season as this will be the first of four matchups. The Kings are coming off a 101-92 win against the Utah Jazz last night. Rudy Gay led for them as he scored 29 points in the victory.
The Lakers will need to pay extra attention to Gay with DeMarcus Cousins out of the lineup Gay will have to do much more. The Kings will be without Cousins for an unspecified time as he is battling Meningitis.
It will be interesting to see how the Lakers respond in this second game with the new starting lineup. One thing is for sure they will need to try to keep the Kings off the glass as the Kings currently rank 4th in the league in rebounding.
