- Updated: February 15, 2017
The Los Angeles Lakers dropped a heartbreaker to the Sacramento Kings Tuesday night. After being tied with 30 seconds remaining in the final frame, a late DeMarcus Cousins free throw proved to be the difference.
Cousins finished with 40 on 13-24 shooting. He also grabbed 12 boards to round out a double-double. Darren Collision, Aaron Affalo and Ben McLemore each finished in double figures for Sacramento.
Lou Williams went off for 29 off the bench in just 24 minutes. He was 10-18 from the floor. Aside from Lou, the Lakers’ starting five and bench were both shut down completely. Julius Randle‘s 11 points were good for second best on the team.
The Kings shot 49% from the field to the Lakers’ 46% mark. Both teams turned it over 17 times. LA edged Sacramento, 49-47, on the glass.
97-96 was your final from the Staples Center. Los Angeles will look to bounce back before the All-Star break. Their last game will be against Devin Booker and the Phoenix Subs tonight.
