Sacramento Completes The Sweep Of Lakers, 106-98

The Sacramento Kings completed the sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers with a 106-98 victory. For the first in the Kings 68 year history, they have completed their first season sweep of the Lakers.

Darren Collison, made the most of his ninth start of the season, with 22 points in the 41 minutes played. DeMarcus Cousins also added 22 points in the victory for the Kings.

Los Angeles came into this game very sluggish and it showed, after the Kings built a commanding 26-8 first-quarter lead, the team fell behind by twenty-three points, but managed to get back within seven.

Lou Williams led the way for the Lakers with 17 points off the bench. Julius Randle had another great game, collecting a double-double, with 14 points and he was the leader in rebounds with 11. Marcelo Huertas has been seeing more playing time and was the team leader in this game, with six assists.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:

This was a very tough game for the team, they simply seemed flat, and their play was a direct result. There was a good number in this one for Los Angeles, they edged the Kings on the glass, out rebounding them 49-41 and doubling them up on the offensive end, 10-5.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

Los Angeles (14-54), will take on the Phoenix Suns, on Friday night at the Staples Center. The Suns come into this one, only four games ahead of the Lakers in the standings. Los Angeles is now forty-seven games behind the Golden State Warriors, in the Western Conference of the NBA.
