Royals Bounce Back To Beat The Angels, 7-5

Raul Mondesi Jr. celebrated his 21st birthday with two big hits which included an RBI-bunt single. He advanced to third base on a throwing error by Matt Shoemaker (L,5-11), and later scored the winning run for the Kansas City Royals, in their victory over the Angels, 7-5.
The Royals broke the game wide open in the bottom of the seventh, scoring four runs and adding two more in the bottom of the eight, to claim the victory.
The Angels had one last chance in the top of the ninth inning, with the bases loaded, Royals closer Wade Davis struck out Anaheim catcher Jett Bandy, leaving the tying run on second base. Andrelton Simmons, Jefry Marte, and Gregorio Petit all had two hits apiece to lead the Angels.
HALO’s DUGOUT:
Anaheim had many chances to win this game, but there was one very disappointing number, 11. This was the number of runners left on base, along with the numbers 3-14, this was the team with runners in scoring position.
ANGELS ON DECK:
The team will head home to open a four-game series with the Boston Red Sox. The Angels (45-56), will send Jered Weaver (8-8, 5.32 ERA), to the mound. The Red Sox will counter with their ace David Price (9-7, 4.51 ERA). Anaheim is still in the basement of the American League West, 12.5 games behind the leaders of the division, the Texas Rangers.
