Rockets Outlast Lakers, 121-111

The Los Angeles Lakers had a very bizarre night last evening against the Houston Rockets which ended up with a 121-111 loss.

Newly acquired Robert Covington stole the show in his first game with the Rockets, as he blocked Lakers center Anthony Davis from behind. Houston’s Russell Westbrook led all scorers with 41 points. The Rockets were playing shorthanded and only played 9 players total. Covington led the Rockets bench with 14 points.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with a double-double, 32 points, and 13 rebounds. Four of the Lakers’ five players all scored in double figures except Javale McGee had 4 points.

The three-point shot made the difference in this game. Houston made 19 of them from downtown. The Lakers only made 9 and shot a dismal 29%.

Next up for the Lakers will be a Saturday night primetime match up with the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors will have several new players including Andrew Wiggins coming over in a trade, DeAngelo Russell was moved to Minnesota.
