Robyn Regehr Announces Retirement

According to the Jon Rosen of lakingsinsider.com Los Angeles Kings defenseman Robyn Regehr has announced his retirement.
Robyn Regehr is likely to retire. Jarret Stoll said the puck he picked up at the end of the game was for him.

Rosen then reported that Regehr’s decision to retire was something in the works for a while.
I had never spoken to Regehr about it, but from my understanding his decision to retire had been made for a substantial amount of time.

Originally drafted in the first round of the 1998 draft Regehr spent 11 seasons with the Calgary Flames before spending two seasons with the Buffalo Sabers.
The last three years of his career were spent with the Los Angeles Kings where he won the 2014 Stanley Cup.
Regehr played in 1,088 games throughout his career. He did battle through injuries over the last few years but was able to play in 66 games this season for the Kings.

Gee slow down bro, you are all of 35 years old. You could have easily came back again and any team would have gladly signed you to a contract. Such a waste.

He could have back for sure. I guess he was just ready for the next phase of his life. One a Stanley Cup and was ready to move on.

True, but there are clearly some people who will get a positive buzz going without being paid anything more than a preview ticket.

Actually, the Brewers series is four games, with a day game on Thursday.
