Report: Albert Pujols Underwent Foot Surgery

According to Jon Morosi of FOXSports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim first basemen Albert Pujols underwent surgery on his foot.

Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

Pujols had been dealing with a injury in his toe at the end of the season. With the Angels fighting for a playoff spot Pujols refused to sit out. DiGiovanna reported that late in the season Pujols was forced to play DH.

With the injury Pujols may not be ready to go come opening day. If he is not ready C.J. Cron would probably take on the first base duties. Pujols has been one of the most consistent players in baseball when it comes to playing. ESPN Stats & Info reported that only Ichiro Suzuki has played in more games since 2001.

As more information surfaces about Pujols and the injury we will keep you up to date.
