Things will have to change in 2018 if the Ontario Reign want to see the playoffs this season.

On December 29, the Reign took another win with a margin of one goal, this time 4-3 against the Stockton Heat at the Citizens Bank Arena. A wild third period saw two goals from Stockton and three from Ontario, including the game-winner at 19:07 from Andrew Crescenzi. Matt Luff found the back of the net two times in the win.
Closing out the year on New Year’s Eve, Ontario lost to the Tucson Roadrunners, 2-1, scoring its only goal from Philippe Maillet with just under two minutes to go in the match.
