Recapping The Rams 2019 Draft

The 2019 NFL Draft provided twists and turns throughout the league. While some greatly improved their team, others made some questionable decisions. Below is a list of what the Rams accomplished this week, during the draft.

Round one: No selection.

Round two: Safety Taylor Rapp, University of Washington

Round three: Running Back Darrell Henderson, University of Memphis

Corner Back David Long, University of Michigan

Offensive Tackle Bobby Evans, University of Oklahoma

Round four: Defensive Tackle Greg Gaines, University of Washington

Round five: Offensive Tackle David Edwards, University of Wisconsin

Round six: No selection.

Round seven: Safety Nick Scott, Penn State

Linebacker Dakota Allen, Texas Tech

Looking at how the Rams drafted this year, the plan going forward is simple. Groom for the future. After the contracts of some veteran players expire, this draft class will have to take over. One example of this is Taylor Rapp. Rapp will share reps with Eric Weddle. Weddle will provide excellent leadership for a young player, as he is one of the smartest players in the game.

While the Rams did not make a first-round selection, they made their presence known. In this year’s draft, the Rams were supposed to have seven different selections, they ended up picking eight different times. There are also a couple picks going to the Rams in the 2020 NFL Draft. Los Angeles already has a championship caliber team, they have also secured a bright future for years to come.
