Yesterday at U.S. Cellular field in Chicago, Illinois the Los Angeles Angels lost their second straight game to the Chicago White Sox. These consecutive losses have come at a time when the Angels are chasing the Houston Astros who have a one game lead in the American League West division.

White Sox’s starting pitcher Carlos Rodon (5-4, 4.61 ERA, 7.0 IP, 11 K’s, 4 Hits, 0 ER) (W) was dominant on the mound against the Angels lineup. They were shutout as Angels starter Hector Santiago (7-6, 2.87 ERA, 5.1 IP, 4 K’s, 4 Hits, 3 ER) (L) struggled against his former team.

The scoring started in the b0ttom of the fourth inning. White Sox designated hitter Melky Cabrera hit a two-run RBI double to deep left field as Tyler Saladino and Jose Abreu scored giving Chicago a 2-0 lead.

This continued in the bottom of the fifth inning as well. Chicago’s center fielder Trayce Thompson hit a solo home run to center field as the White Sox were up 3-0.

The final score of the second game of this series was 3-0. White Sox’s closer David Robertson picked up save number (23) on the season in last nights win.

Tonight at 5:10 PM PT the Los Angeles Angels will look to avoid getting swept by the Chicago White Sox. Angels ace Andrew Heaney (5-1, 2.45 ERA) will face White Sox’s starter John Danks (6-9, 4.79 ERA) in the series finale.
