The San Diego Padres managed to put on a show last night against the Miami Marlins as they took the game 5-3. Odrisamer Despaigne can be given a lot of credit for last night’s win.
Despaigne struck out five players, scattered five hits and gave up three runs over six plus innings. Pat Murphy, interim manager for the San Diego Padres, said this of him.
“I think he was great … underrated.”
He also said this about his team:
“We’re having fun, and the guys are believing. They know what they need to do. We still make mistakes, and we’re concentrating on correcting those mistakes, but we’re having fun.”
MLB.com writes the following of Marc Rzepczynski‘s game debut.
He came into the game in a tight spot with runners on the corners and one out in the seventh inning. Two batters and three pitches later, he was out of the inning after getting two ground balls to preserve the lead.
“That’s what I try to do, get that early contact,” Rzepczynski said.
The Padres are currently taking on the Miami Marlins in their series finale. Let’s get this win Friars!
