Both the LA Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo played an excellent match on March 21, 2015. Bad luck prevented the Galaxy from their second win of the season.

Just three minutes into the game, Robbie Keane scored his second goal of the season. He dribbled the ball for 40 yards and nutmegged Dynamo defender, Nathan Sturgis. At first, I thought the goalkeeper might save it, but our favorite Irishman knocked it right past Tyler Deric.
Eight minutes later, Sturgis revenged his early mistake. Off a corner, Oscar Garcia kicked the ball to David Horst who headed the ball towards the goal. Sturgis snuck past Robbie Rogers and tapped the ball past Jaime Penedo, who started in his first match of the season.
For the rest of the match, neither team scored a tiebreaker. In the first half, Houston limited LA three shots, but the tables turned in the second half. The Galaxy dominated and kept Deric very busy. Out of nine shots taken, the Galaxy put four on target, while the Dynamo took six shots with half of them on target.
Even though A.J. DeLaGarza has been on the bench except for seven minutes so far, he played a full match on March 22 with the LA Galaxy II. I’m hoping we’ll get to see DeLaGarza play for the Galaxy soon.
What will it take for the LA Galaxy to earn their second win of the season? One issue has been defense. Had Robbie Rogers paid better attention to Nathan Sturgis during that corner kick, the equalizer might not have been scored.
Unfortunately, the LA Galaxy plays against D.C. United in their next match and they’ll be without Robbie Keane, Jaime Penedo, Oscar Sorto, Gyasi Zardes, and Bradford Jamieson IV. Let’s hope forwards Edson Buddle and Alan Gordon, who will probably start against DC, can fill Keane’s and Zardes shoes and score some goals!
