RECAP: Indians Rally To Beat Angels, 8-3.

The Los Angeles Angels road woes continued, as the Angels lose to the Cleveland Indians, 8-3. The Angels got on the scoreboard first, on a solo shot, off the bat of Kole Calhoun, for his 20th of the season.

After a 35 minute rain delay in the third inning at Progressive Field, the Indians tied the score at 1-1. Later in the inning, the Indians grabbed
senhall. Angels starter Garrett Richards was sharp, through the seven innings that he pitched, striking out nine and only allowing three runs.

The Angels did manage to tie the game in the top of the fourth, David Murphy homered and Kaleb Cowart‘s double allowed Eric Aybar to score on a misplayed ball by Indians left fielder Michael Brantley. The bottom of the eight inning was the downfall for the Angels, after the Indians took a one run lead. The final runs for Cleveland were provided by Yan Gomes, who hit a grand slam, off Angels reliever Joe Smith,(L,4-4).

Los Angeles,(65-64), will now try to salvage the final game in Cleveland, tomorrow afternoon. The team will send Jared Weaver,(6-9, 4.59 ERA), to the hill, against Josh Tomlin,(2-1, 3.26 ERA). The team is now in third place in the American League West, 6.5 games behind the Houston Astros and 2.5 games behind the Texas Rangers for the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
