RECAP: Dodgers Win, 5-1 Over Reds, To Snap The Five Game Skid

Alex Wood,(W, 9-8) got the Los Angeles Dodgers back in the win column, as he went 5 2/3, striking out 4 and only allowing one run, in a very strong pitching effort.

Wood took a shutout into the sixth inning before Cincinnati scored. The Dodgers bats were definitely working Reds starter John Lamb,(L, 0-2), who gave up a first inning double off the bat of Yasiel Puig, that scored Jimmy Rollins and a two-run homer to Justin Turner, in the top of the third inning.

Jimmy Rollins connected on a Ryan Mattheus pitch for another two run-homer, in the top of the sixth, for his 13th of the season.

The Dodgers will now take the momentum into game two of the series, as the team will send Brett Anderson,(7-8, 3.52 ERA), to the mound, as he will face off against David Holmberg,(1-3, 6.57 ERA).

The win is great news for all Dodgers fans as they snap the five game skid. The team are still in first place in the National League West, by only a game and a half over the second place San Francisco Giants.
