The Dodgers get even in the mini-series with the Oakland A’s, as the Dodgers bats came alive in a true see-sew game, with an impressive 10-7 victory.

Clayton Kershaw was scheduled to pitch but was scratched, due to a hip/glute muscle soreness, according to MLB.com. Mike Bolsinger took the ball in the spot start for the team and gave them five decent innings of work.

The scoring started in the first inning for Los Angeles, as Andre Either’s single scored Howie Kendrick to give the team a 1-0 lead. Oakland came back to take the lead in the bottom of the fourth, on a bunt single by A’s left fielder Sam Fuld. The Dodgers came back in the bottom of the inning, on a two run homer by Yasiel Puig, who celebrated his bobble-head night in a grand way, collecting two hits and driving in three runs, which included his 7th homer of the season.

The A’s re-gained the in the top of the fifth inning, stretching the lead to three runs, but the Dodgers came back to get in front for good in the bottom of the frame, on two key hits by Adrian Gonzalez, Yasmani Grandal and Enrique Hernandez. Gonzalez’s double to center field scored Scott Van Slyke from third, Grandal reached first on an infield single and Hernandez came up with the big double to center field to score Grandal and Gonzalez, to give the Dodgers the lead for good. The Dodgers added another run on single by Puig that scored Hernandez but was thrown out at second, attempting to stretch a single to a double.

The Dodgers added two more runs, in the bottom of the eight inning to extent the lead to four. Oakland came back in the top of the ninth when Brett Lawrie hit a solo shot off of Kelly Jansen but the A’s were shutdown, and the Dodgers claimed the victory.

Pedro Baez,(3-2), got the win in relief for Los Angeles and Drew Pomeranz,(4-4), took the loss for Oakland. The Dodgers,(57-45), will have the day off today, before taking on another Inter-league match up, against their cross town rivals, the Los Angeles Angels. Dodgers are still in first place but hold a slim 0.5 game lead over the San Francisco Giants, in the National League West. The loss keeps the Oakland A’s,(45-57), in the American League’s Western basement, 12 games behind the first place Houston Astros.

Good news, Clayton Kershaw,(8-6, 2.51 ERA), will return to start for the Blue Crew. The Angels,(55-45), will send Hector Santiago,(7-4, 2.43 ERA), to the mound in a very crucial series for both teams.
