RECAP: Dodgers Lose To Diamondbacks, 12-4

There will be games like this over a 162 game season, as the Dodgers found themselves on the wrong end of a 12-4 loss, to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Dodgers starter Alex Wood,(L,10-10), made his shortest start of his career, that only lasted 1-2/3 innings. Wood’s line score was really sub par as the Arizona got to him for eight runs on eight hits and two home runs, on 62 pitches. Arizona unleashed a scoring frenzy in the first two innings, as they jumped out to a huge 10 run lead.

Arizona pushed the lead to twelve, but the Dodgers finally got on the scoreboard, thanks to a Justin Ruggiano grand slam, in the top of the ninth, to break the shutout and put an end to a very lopsided game.

Los Angeles,(80-60), have now dropped two games in a row but still hold a healthy lead in the National League West by 7.5 games, over the second place San Francisco Giants. The Diamondbacks,(68-73), with the win, managed to cut into the Dodgers lead as well, but are still 12.5 games behind the Dodgers in third place, in the division.

Game two of the three game set will feature a very good pitching matchup. Mike Bolsinger,(6-3, 2.97 ERA), will take the mound for Los Angeles. Arizona will send former Dodger Rubby De La Rosa,(12-7, 4.49 ERA), to the mound, to try to take the second game of the series.
