RECAP: Dodgers Edged By Mets, 3-1

Jacob deGrom (W,1-0), was simply great last night, completing seven strong innings, allowing no runs, striking out thirteen, on only five hits, as the New York Mets beat the Dodgers, in game one of the National League Divisional Series, 3-1.

Clayton Kershaw (L,0-1), had a great game as well, striking out eleven, as this game was a pitching duel, well into the seventh inning. Daniel Murphy got the Mets on the scoreboard first, with a solo shot to right field, in the top of the fourth inning, but the four walks and three earned runs was enough for the Mets to get away with the win.

You have to give this guy some credit, in these situations, road teams are usually nervous and unsettled, but deGrom was poised and ready, as he pitched the best game of his career so far.

The Dodgers finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the eight inning, on a single to left field, from Adrian Gonzalez, that scored Howie Kendrick. Los Angeles had the chances, as the team only went 1 of 8 with runners in scoring position, while leaving seven runners on base.

NEXT UP FOR THE DODGERS:

The second game of the National League Divisional Series will take place later on this evening at 6:07 PST, as the team will get another chance to even in the series. Zack Greinke will take on Noah Syndergaard.
