RECAP: Dodgers Edge Out Reds, 2-1

The Los Angeles Dodgers take the final game with the Cincinnati Reds, 2-1 and take three games out of the four, as the team has now won three straight.

Zack Greinke, (W, 13-2), can do it all, the Dodgers starter hit his second homer of the season today, struck out 8 and allowing only one run on six hits.

Joc Pederson connected for his 23 homer, off Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani, (L, 7-8), who also managed to strike out six Dodgers.
New father Kelly Jansen got the last four outs, to record his 24th save of the season, congrats to dad and the family.

Today’s low-scoring affair, was the Dodgers,(67-51), the 67th win of the season, while improving their home record to 22 games over .500. The team will start an eight game road trip, on Tuesday evening, with a five game inter-league showdown with the Oakland A’s and the Houston Astros and returning to National league play, in Cincinnati. Oakland will send Felix Doubront,(1-1, 4.59 ERA), to the mound. Los Angeles will the reigning Cy Young and MVP Clayton Kershaw,(10-6, 2.39 ERA).

Los Angeles is still on top of the National League West, 2.5 games up on the second place San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati remains in fourth place in the National League Central, 23.5 games behind the first place St. Louis Cardinals.
