RECAP: Dodgers Beat The Mets, 7-2, Thomas Picks Up The Win

The Los Angeles Dodgers score another big win in their series with the New York Mets, 7-2.

Dodgers starter Ian Thomas,(1-1), picked up his first win of the season, going 5 innings, striking out 5, only allowing three hits and one earned run The team has been very fortunate to this point of the season, with great starting pitching and in this game, the bullpen held their own for Thomas.

Justin Turner had the hot bat for the Blue Crew, he led the team with a pair of doubles, driving in three runs and his 13th homer of the season. The team had a great start to this game, scoring six runs in the first three innings. All eight position players got a hit in this game and gave the Mets starter, Jonathon Niese,(5-9), an early exit, Neise only lasted three innings.

Yasiel Puig hit a two run homer, his 6th of the season along with Jimmy Rollins hitting his 10th of the season, a solo shot that reached the right field upper deck at Citi Field. Rollins has now hit homers in back to back games. Rookie catcher Austin Barnes gave Yasmani Grandal a rest tonight and he also had a hit in the game.

Los Angeles,(56-42), have now taken the first two games of this series. Zach Lee,(0-0. 0.00 ERA), will take the mound for the Dodgers, the status of Zack Greinke is not available at this time. New York,(49-48), will start their ace Matt Harvey,(8-7, 3.19 ERA), as they will try to stop the losing streak at three games.

The Dodgers now have a 3.5 game lead over the second place San Francisco Giants, in the National League West and the Mets are still in second place in the National League East, 3 games behind the Washington Nationals.
