Recap: Dodgers 5, Mets 3 – All Tied Up!

Last night, the Dodgers were saved by a play that I hate to see. Chase Utley slid into second to break up a double play “hard nosed baseball!” many yelled but on the replay, Chase slid late and was nowhere near the bag when he went towards Ruben Tejada‘s legs to break up the double-play, allowing the tying run to score off Bartolo Colon who came in to replace Noah Syndergaard in the bottom of the 7th. Ok, so that was done, I’m cool, dirty but legal play two outs but no hold the phone, Don Mattingly wants to review the plate that Chase is safe, even though Chase never touched the bag.

Luckily for us Dodgers, the umpires in New York, who did the New York team no favors ruled for the Dodgers

Which is crap, it should’ve been two outs and when Corey Seager lined out, that should’ve been the third but nope, because baseball is funny, when you give a team an extra man, someone always comes through and good ole Adrian Gonzalez, who has been scuffling against the 2 hard throwing starters of the Mets, came through again against the Mets bullpen driving in two.

Then the next batter Justin Turner drove in the 5th and final run of the night, sealing it for the home team

After that Chris Hatcher and Kenley Jansen pitched the 8th and 9th innings to finish it and tie this series up.

Next up is Game 3 Monday TBD @ Citi Field:

Brett Anderson (10-9, 3.69 ERA) vs Matt Harvey (13-8, 2.71 ERA) – TBS
