RECAP: Dodgers 3, Giants 2.

The National League Western Champions picked up another win today, as the defeated their rivals the San Francisco Giants, 3-2, in their final game this season.

Dodgers starter Brett Anderson (W,10-9), picked up his tenth win of the season, with a stellar performance, going 7-2/3, allowing zero runs, on four hits and striking out three. It was also great work from the bullpen as well, Chris Hatcher and Kelly Jansen only had to use ten pitches, to retire the Giants in the eight and ninth innings.

The Dodgers offense managed to get going early in this game, opening up an early lead in the top of the second inning, on a sac-fly by Chase Utley, that scored Andre Ethier. Los Angeles added two more runs in the top of the third inning, as those runs would be proven to be the game winner.

San Francisco’s only chance was in the bottom of the eight inning, but they were unable to score in their final time at bat.

Tim Hudson (L,8-9), made his 479th and final start of his career today for the Giants. His stat line wasn’t very impressive, as he gave up a one out base hit to Howie Kendrick, which was his final play in his Major League career. Hudson received applause from everyone, including our guys, as we tip our caps to one of the best competitors in the game.

NEXT UP FOR THE DODGERS:

The celebrations should be in order for the Dodgers (89-70), as the will return home to Dodger Stadium, for the final series of the season with the San Diego Padres. Alex Wood (11-12, 3.89 ERA), will be opposed by Casey Kelly (0-1, 9.00 ERA), in the first game. The team still have work to do, the New York Mets ad Dodgers have identical records in wins and losses, as these three games should and will decide playoff seedings.
