Recap: Dodgers 15 – Padres 0, All Kinds of Fun
- Updated: April 5, 2016
Last night was the first game in the final season of Vin Scully’s illustrious broadcasting career, probably the best that ever was and ever will be and the Dodgers got the season off to a hot start.
Corey Seager got the scoring started with a double after Chase Utley doubled to start the game, that hit was his first RBI into his 2016 Rookie of the Year campaign. He finished with only that single hit but also got a run and another RBI for the total of 2.
Then there’s Clayton Kershaw, he was was pretty good, 7 innings, giving up one hit and even though Carl Crawford looked lost, he was still too far for him to get to anyway. Oh and 9 strikeouts and one walk, you know, just a normal Kershaw start.
CC probably wouldn't have caught it anyway, but the only hit Kershaw's given up is still: pic.twitter.com/Ev8CWoh0B3

Every Dodger starter, even Kershaw, got at least 1 hit and 1 run.
Utley went 3-5 with a double and 2 RBI’s and even the two outs were hit hard and a ball that the fielder had to make a great play on. Utley starting off strong.
Puig went 2-3 with a triple that turned into a pseudo inside the park homerun after an error. Adrian Gonzalez, the butter and eggs man
Suddenly I open my fridge and all that's there are BUTTER AND EGGS!!!!!! @AdrianTitan23 👏🏼

Went 3-4 with 3 RBI’s and 2 runs, um A.J. Ellis got 3 RBI’s, hitting 8th and even Kershaw got a hit.
All in all it was a fantastic way to start the season, at least for the Dodgers. Can’t imagine what it was like for Padres fans.

and at the end of it all as Vin would say “This was one for the record books”
#Dodgers win 15-0. The largest #OpeningDay shutout victory since the Baltimore Canaries beat the Washington Olympics 16-0 on April 18, 1872.
