Recap: Dodgers 1, Mets 2 – Kershaw Can’t Win for Losing

Clayton Kershaw pitched another great game last game, going 7 innings, striking out 7 and only giving up one run but the Dodgers offense and bullpen failed him again handing the team their 4th straight loss with Kershaw on the mound.

We all know the story of Kershaw’s “struggles” this year but lately he’s been pretty darn good, lowing his ERA from 4.32 now down to 3.20 from May 21st to today. Citing Kershaw’s history, he will continue to get stronger and better as the season progresses and we should eventually see his ERA dip below 2.50 and people will forget how “bad” when he wasn’t really bad or struggling, but was just good instead of great.

The Dodgers only offense came in the form of a Adrian Gonzalez home run and the Dodgers even stole a base, Howie Kendrick! But unfortunately, the team left 5 runners on base in scoring position and Kenley Jansen, in a non-save situation, gave up the go ahead run in the top of the 9th to give the Mets the lead.

Oh and that kid for the Mets, Noah Syndergaard, is really good, let me give him some credit. When you can place pitches from 96-98 mph right on the corner, it’s going to be hard to get hits and he was on his game today.

Today we have Zack Greinke (6-2) going against Matt Harvey (7-5), a 3:15PM start.

If you’re going to the game on Sunday, see you there!
